How to Listen:

You will need to download teamspeak to listen to the Online Scanner. If you have windows, download teamspeak here. If you have a Mac or Linux machine, click here and choose your operating system.

Once you have downloaded the software, install the program you downloaded. Once you have the teamspeak program installed and running, follow these instructions.

Open the program. You will see a blank blue screen and a menu bar at the top that says CONNECTION. Click CONNECTION, then click on QUICK CONNECT. A menu box pops up asking for a server address, login name, nickname, and password. In the Server Address box, type in: 66.55.146.51:8053
In the Nickname box, type in a nickname. You can use any name you want. E15, DCFD, hosejockey, etc. Then press the CONNECT button. DO NOT FILL IN A LOGIN NAME OR A PASSWORD, YOU DO NOT NEED THOSE.

Once you press connect, you are in. Sit back and enjoy!

If you have downloaded teamspeak, and are unsure about how to connect to the scanner, just click HERE and you will be automatically connected to the scanner. NOTE: You have to install teamspeak before you click this link.

If you have any problems, email me and I'll help you out as best I can!

Donations keep the server alive! Click the Paypal button to donate!

Donors on the Server have a (R) next to theyre names. They make all of this possible for everyone! Without them, this would not be possible.

It Costs to keep all of this going. Thanks again to the donors.

The scanner is set to scan the following channels: 01 02 03 07 A3 A7 A11 A12 A13 B3 B7 (011 012 H01-H16 ARE LOCKED OUT UNLESS SHOOTING, STABBING, SERIOUS ASSAULTS, LONG FALLS ETC. BASICALLY ON A CALL WHERE IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO HEAR AN UPDATE ON PT CONDITION)

The scanner used is a Uniden BCD996T Trunktracking scanner. The scanner is connected to a MAXRAD 8066 Yagi Directional Antenna.
The scanner is set for a 4 second delay. This means that if someone transmits on a channel, the scanner will pause 4 seconds on that channel until the transmission is complete. Then it scans other channels again.

Check out past incidents in the Audio Archives section. Download files in .WAV format to listen to past fires/incidents. The link is at the top of this page. If im around, ill record incidents usually when theyre dispatched, and hold the scanner on that channel until the incident is resolved. So if you hear a box alarm come out for instance, and you see (rec) next to DC FIRE in the server, you know youll hear that run until the end. If that call turns into something, ill have it in the audio archives section immediatley following the incident.
